Getting Here

How you’re transported to our country

Worrorra Country is accessible only by sea plane, helicopter and boat. Your trip starts on your arrival in the coastal town of Broome, Western Australia. Broome is serviced by all the major airline carriers, from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. From Perth you can fly Sky West, Qantas or Virgin.

Broome to Freshwater Cove
On the day of your departure to Worrorra Country you are transferred by taxi from your accommodation to the Broome airport where you board your float plane which will take you to Wijingarra Bard Bard (Freshwater Cove).

The one and a half hour flight to Wijingarra Bard Bard passes over some of the most spectacular coastline you will ever see including the massive tidal waters of King Sound, over the many islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago and spectacular views of the expansive coral reef system that makes up Montgomery Reef (part of the proposed Camden Sound Marine Park).  After an exciting water landing you will be greeted by the local Worrorra people and transferred by dinghy to the shore where your cultural immersion tour begins.

Departing Worrorra Country
Your cultural experience tour finishes with a beautiful float plane flight along the Kimberley coast and back to Broome. Flights depart mid-morning and you arrive back in Broome mid to late afternoon dependent upon tide and weather conditions.

Please Note: It is important that if you are planning to fly out of Broome on the same day as your return, that you book the 4.30 pm flight or later out of Broome. We cannot guarantee float plane arrival times in Broome.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if any more information is required.
